To help organisations to identify the degree of penetration of Step Change objectives within their own company processes, the Principles Workgroup has produced some Check Sheets which will:

-  clarify expectations of what it means to be compliant with Step Change
-  define how companies can measure the penetration of Step Change objectives
-  design a method by which the HSE can help in the verification of this penetration

Expectations
The intent is that the framework can be used as an internal company self assessment and by visiting HSE inspectors to test that company systems comply with the objectives embodied in the Step Change Guidance.

Assessment Framework
A check sheet is available for the majority of the guidance documents which can be used at the worksite by observation or interview.
