MAH work-group wins Energy Institute Award for Health & Safety

Step Change in Safety is very pleased to announce that our Major Accident Hazard Understanding (MAH) work-group has won the Energy Institute Award for Health and Safety 2019.


The group was nominated for the MAH series of films and engagement packs which were developed to improve the understanding of Major Accident Hazards, risk analyses, bowties and SECEs, barrier maintenance and barrier assurance and verification.


Announcing the award, the Energy Institute said; “For the inspirational ‘Own Your Barrier’ educational programme, Step Change in Safety is the winner of the EI Health and Safety Award. The series of short animated films and presentations aim to educate the oil and gas industry on major accident hazards.”


Other finalists in the Health and Safety category, sponsored by Shell, included;
