For the first time ever, we’re hosting a FREE member-exclusive learning event in the East of England - in partnership with EEEGR (East of England Energy Group). Split across two key areas, a Safe Space Discussion (with support from member organisations Perenco and Shell) and Human Factors at the Workplace.

Morning Session: Safe Space Discussion, presented by Oliver Cleveland, Perenco

Event Descriptor: Gas release discovered whilst manning a NUI

This incident is an example of how multiple factors over long periods of time can fundamentally change an installation and the way we work.

It is hoped that by sharing this event and learnings, it can help to prevent similar incidents occurring.

An animation will be utilised to provide an overview of what happened, how it happened and the subsequent changes that were made to processes and facilities.

This session is viewed as a high value learning opportunity across the sector, which will only be shared with those in attendance and out of the public eye of the media and press. This is the very nature of the “safe space” forum.

Learnings Focus on:

• Robust Management of Change

• Galvanic Corrosion Risk

• Ensuring all MAH risks are assessed, and barriers are capable and fully implemented

• Effective pre-manning checks

• Ensuring personnel are fully familiar with emergency response procedures and facilities

Afternoon session: Step Change in Safety Human Factors Work Group – Human Factors at the workplace, presented by David Jamieson, Shell UK andJared Dempsey, Human Factors Workgroup

This interactive and engaging event will focus on raising awareness of Human Factors or ‘Performance Influencing Factors’ within the workplace.

The team will present information relating to how Human Factors can have an effect on individual and also team performance.

There will be several interactive sessions aimed at raising awareness and getting feedback from attendees on challenges and common themes they have encountered at their own workplace with regards to Human Factors.

Session Objectives:

• What are Human Factors or Performance Influencing Factors?

• How can Human Factors affect individual and / or team performance?

• Some common Human Factors to consider at the workplace.

• Step Change in Safety – PIFs in TBT
